Ways To Use A Digital Donor Wall

By Joshua Kelly

Nonprofit organizations have a lot of work to do in order to serve the community. Part of that work is raising money through various projects, sales, and donations in order to have the financing to hire staff and provide the programs that help the people they serve. In order to foster goodwill, they usually have a way to recognize those that donate by putting up plaques or using a digital donor wall for this purpose. There are several ways to provide this recognition, but the electronic wall allows them to enhance the experience.

The display that is used lets the organization update fundraising efforts and goals. When the donations are received a staff member can easily log into the system and update it to reflect this information. Providing these ongoing updates will help keep the project in peoples minds and answer questions on how well the work is going.

Interactive displays are a great way to provide information. If the goals are displayed and the board is a touch screen, anyone can click on a fund raising display to get more information. This can include photos of the people that will be helped, a storyboard that tells how the money will be spent, and other types of information can be included to help people make the decision. Interactive displays are much better than simple pamphlets because they are engaging.

Scrolling lists allow you to add more names and information. The most prominent donors can be put up top and made clickable so people can get more information about them. As new donations are received, the new names can be added to the list. This saves time and effort that would be required if updating plaques or static names on a wall.

Presentations provide important information. Pamphlets are great ways to get out information. But if something changes or there isn't enough space, the electronic display allows these updates to be made quickly. New information can be added and other things updated throughout the effort. They can also present information on special events that are coming up.

Adding future events keeps people informed. This is important for an active organization that wants to get a lot of information out. By adding events, it allows people to plan to attend and since they can touch each event they can quickly get the information they need about what is going on.

Achievements can be highlighted. Once an event ends, all that participated can be recognized with nice pages of recognition. If there are other events, such as contests, or service awards they can also be displayed. Being able to create these updates really makes this type of system the best for active organizations.

Getting information out on your efforts and fundraisers is important for the survival of the group. The information you put out needs to be up to date and timely for active organizations. There are a lot of costs to getting the word out of what is going on, so having something that is easily updated will save time, money, and work.
